Even if you don't fully understand the study of economics, it is a fascinating topic, as there are a lot of things to pick up. If you think about it, we are all connected to economics in some way. Whether you are an entrepreneur or an employer, you are part of the global exchange of services and goods.
Very few people are actual jack-of-all-trades, and this is where the concept stems from. This is why we strive to become the best we can be, and try to earn money from that. From the money we earn, we purchase the services and goods that we cannot do ourselves. So, look for what you know you can do and try to find out ways to make money from it.
Sadly, not everyone gets money through something that they like doing. This is a fact of life that sometimes cannot be avoided. What we can, and indeed should, avoid is the trap of doing something that we don't want to do and get nothing out of it. Take the ritual cleaning of the house, for instance.
Not a lot of people like cleaning the house. The bathroom, in particular, is so hard to clean, and for what? Sure we'll all benefit from a clean bathroom; everyone spends some time there each day. But at the same time, no one really wants to bow down and scrub over and over. That you have to do it relatively often is a nasty problem.
But why don't people just hire someone to do the job for them? I'm thinking that most of this stems from pride; they think that they can do it themselves, so they don't bother trying to hire someone else to do the job. Hogwash. Unless you are a pro on the task of cleaning, you have no business cleaning; not if someone else can do the service for you.
