Tin tile products including cornices and backsplashes are available in countless colors and finishes not to mention thousands of patterns. Most providers give you the option of having your tin tiles finished in the store or having them shipped to you unfinished. This way you have some flexibility.
Earlier in the 19th century, there were not nearly as many available finishes and colors nor patterns for tin tiles. You only had a few options to choose from. Now days, your options are truly endless with finishes like gold, silver, copper and so many more. There are thousands and thousands of patterns to choose from but their names differ from provider to provider.
Now you can open up any area of your house with a variety of Tin Tile designs in the 6-inch patterns, 12 in. patterns, all the way up to 6ft. patterns and possibly larger depending on your needs and the particular provider you choose.
If you are going to purchase tin tiles for your ceilings and or walls, take your time and choose something that you will enjoy looking at daily. Keep in mind that some finishes look better than others when applied to the tiles. The pattern will determine how it looks as a whole once the finish is applied.
Some finishes may take longer to finish depending on your likes. If you are looking for a very simple finish and you want it done by the manufacturer, it should only take one to two applications to worst-case scenario, one full day.
Even though some of the more common finishes like plain silver or copper can be very easy to apply to tin tiles, other finishes that are thicker or thinner may take additional coating to fully cover the tile. If and when you are going to be finishing your own tin tiles, speak with a provider first to make sure you are using the proper materials and techniques. As a whole, there are plenty of colors and available finishes to suite even the most unique tastes.
